Sources: Cubs expected to sign Cuban RHP Ronald Mena (+video)

Nearly a month and a half after arriving in the Dominican Republic, 18-year-old Cuban pitcher Ronald Lázaro Mena already has a favorite team to sign with, several sources told Beisbol FR.

Mena is not expected to wait until the next international signing period, as sources indicate he plans to finalize a deal in the current one, before December 15.

The Chicago Cubs have some remaining international bonus pool money, which they intend to use to complete the signing of one of the most attractive pitchers on the market in recent months.
