International Signing Period Recap (2024-2025)

Industry trends and how organizations are shifting toward different types of talent

A new international signing period opened a week ago, on January 15. More than 500 players have already officially signed with MLB organizations and are entering a system that offers increasingly less time for development and patience. That does not mean, however, that here at Beisbol FR, as we promised, we will not deliver our customary recap of the previous international signing period, which was in effect from January 15 to December 15, 2025.

A total of 1,062 players from 24 different countries signed during that period. In the previous class, 2023–2024, 976 prospects entered the system, representing an increase of 86 additional signings.
