The 2024-2025 international signing period is close to its halfway point, and in this article, we break down signings by country of birth. In our previous edition of International Notes, we discussed the overwhelming presence of players born in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic dominating the international market — a trend that is anything but new.
The gap between the two countries has narrowed, considering the difference of 446 Dominicans and 350 Venezuelans signed in the 2023-2024 period. As of now, and through the official signings up to April 25, Venezuelan players have surpassed those born in the Dominican Republic, with 308 compared to 298.
Both markets continue to dominate the entire signing period in terms of interest, signings, and talent, accounting for 84.16% of the 720 official signings.
