Cuban Prospects Review II (2024-30 Classes)
More than 80 names that I consider potential signings with MLB teams.
This piece marks the second consecutive year that I release a comprehensive guide on players born in Cuba who are currently navigating the process of signing with Major League Baseball organizations.
While it may be a more specialized piece of work intended for MLB teams and their scouting departments than for the average fan, it also serves a broader purpose: to shed light on the ongoing patterns of Cuban baseball’s migration and the forces shaping it.
The main objective of this project is to organize and classify emerging talent by signing class, while offering context about the academies these players train in and a concise snapshot of their baseball background. Since I began covering the Cuban baseball exodus more than a decade ago, data has consistently revealed one of its most defining trends: the steady decline in the average age of players leaving the island.
